I have building wooden ship models for over 50 years. In that time I have purchased used
and discarded many. I enjoy using quality tools and I often look around the internet for interesting
options. Of coarse I also use a number of sites that specialize in miniature and hand tools.
I my opinion there has not been much new for a long time.
Maybe I am behind the time but about a year ago I started to see some miniature power tools on
the internet. I was quite skeptical about what I was seeing. They looked good in pictures but the cost
at some cases under $50 made me skeptical at best. I decided to take a chance on a mini belt sander on Amazon.
My expatiations were not great. What I got was an amazing quality sander [pictured in the attached photo].

It worked well beyond what I thought I would get. It was all aluminum, no plastic, with ball bearings on the idler wheels and a reversable motor. After a few uses it is now all I use and my other old hobby grade belt sanders are on a shelf.

After this great purchase I followed with a mini horizontal disc sander and drill press.
Again great machines. They are all aluminum quality parts, variable speed reversable motors.
All ball bearings and the drill press has a cog tooth belt drive belt.

These were a perfect match to my Byrnes table saw. And I would say match the quality of Byrnes.

These followed into my shop with a powered hand held mini drill with drill press and drill sets,
powered mini saw and reciprocal sander.
I have the ultrasonic knife but have not used it much yet but tested is successfully.

The tools mentioned here, some used for almost a year now, are my go to tools and for me irreplicable. This is important to me especially because because I do not have full use of my right hand and being light and east to hold are of prime importance.
