I am currently working on a build of a 16th century Korean warship and I have been trying to track down information on traditional rigging methods and haven't been able to come up with much yet. I've tried looking at photos of modern reconstructions and depictions in film and dramas, but neither have been very helpful as the reconstructions aren't very faithful (hardly any rigging, no use of sails and reliance on power motors only), and movies rarely show good details of the ships themselves.

Three modern depictions of the ship in question. All have various issues is so many ways.
I'm sure if I keep on digging, I might be able to find something, but I wondered if anyone knows any good resources that could save my some research time. Although the specific ship I am working on is a panokseon, I would be satisfied with any rigging information on premodern Asiatic ships, specifically with square, battoned sails. Photo's, diagrams, or even written descriptions of premodern rigging methods (e.g. did they use rigging blocks or not). Even if it doesn't directly relate to the ship in question, I'd still appreciate it as 1) I can still use the information figure out what might be applicable and 2) I could be useful on future project I or other builders may undertake on other ships of the far east.
