abandoned kit/ loss of confidence

That is perhaps the smartest action I have ever heard on SoS. Congratulations on not settling for inferior quality.

Thanks for saying that. If nothing else Ive learned - buy one top quality ship kit to get pleasure from, rather than several cheap ones that will drive you nuts.

Regarding the Pen Duick by Artesania Latina, to see how to shape the curved almost railing piece at the top of the deck at the stern, instead of instructions, there is video. So I had to keep scrolling through, until I found the viddo, and the fraction of a second in that video that more or less revealed the shape. And then somehow stop on that exact frame. And then capture it so I could look at it while working. That is nuts.

Here is what I finally found. Showing the sides of the curved deck piece extending out past the sides but not extending out over the back (AKA the stern,eh?).

Took way too much effort to find and capture this info.

Video is very useful ... but IMHO it does not replace real instructions.

I agree. Video is useful, but should be just a backup for proper paper instructions. Surely it cant be saving much money to not supply printed matter?
