I've got my Discovery's tissue jib glued on the jib boom and the jib stay. I would like to to have some fake hanks to show that the jib is actually attached to the stay. The ship is 1:48 and the jib stay is .020" dia. I'm sure that the scale hanks would be human hair size and being beige (I think) would be almost invisible but I still think it needs something. Any ideas? Thanks

What I ended up doing. I waxed a piece of 1/16" stainless welding rod and wrapped it with .006" upholstery thread, spacing the wraps about one thread width apart. Then I soaked the thread in thin CA. After it cured I sliced all the wraps lengthwise down the wire. Then I picked the individual wraps off with my thumbnail. I put a tiny drop of thinned acrylic medium on the stay and picked up one wrap with small tweezers and placed the open part of the wrap over the stay and the edge of the sail. I didn't worry about the orientation of the wraps as the sail is furled and I don't think they would lay evenly anyway. The end result. The little white spots are just acrylic medium that hasn't dried yet. It dries matt and clear. I'm kind of pleased with the way it turned out.
