furled sails, means "Ready for use" if necessary -> so I guess YES !

All rigging is still in place even with furled sails. The leech, bunt, clew, and sheet lines are all still rigged.

That is exactly what I have been learning. Foremast is rigged with all necessary block and footropes. Working on main, then mizzen. Doing a much as possible b4 making the final decision on whether to add sails or not. Thank you for the info

If you do sails, then I highly suggest that you turn your Yards at an angle. Rarely a ship will be 'with' running on the wind with the yards at 90° offset to the mast. I suggest about a 20° offset. Just an opinion. Then you have to decide at which 'good side' you want your ship to be displayed on.

For humor. . . is right a left counterwise rotation on starboard tack or a right clockwise rotation on a port tack. . . choice subconsciously related to political sentiments????? The winds are ever changing! ;-) Rich (PT-2)
