Hello fellow sawdust bespeckled persons. At this point I am really happy to have joined this group, hopefully to gets lots of advice and clever tips! I have just ordered Occre's HMS Beagle, and I'm eagerly awaiting the moment when it hoves to and docks in my parcel box. I am a keen woodworker, having built everything from cupboards to sheds (and one large conservatory), but my only previous experience of building a model ship was some 40 years ago when I started Billings' Wasa. It's a horrible misplacement of an undeserving idiom to say I ran out of steam on a sailing vessel, but that's what happened. I must unearth the old Wasa from the attic and see just how much of the parts are still there! I'm going to keep a photo log of the Beagle build so I can attempt to bore as many people as possible with my feeble unschooled efforts.

Many thanks for all your kind welcomes to the forum, they're very much appreciated!

A warm welcome aboard Biggles.
Keep the steam up this time and the sawdust too. Looking forward to your build log.
