Thanks Rob. No problem though, the plans are direct from ANCRE and Im building it size for size. No scaling differances in this case.Keep in mind that those boats were originally designed in french inches, and thus will be a little longer than English measurements, in case you are seeing some scaling discrepancies.
Thanks for the kind words Allan.Had to do more than a like. That is a beautiful cannon barrel, WELL DONE.
Allan
So what's a "French inch." First time I've ever heard of such a thing.Keep in mind that those boats were originally designed in french inches, and thus will be a little longer than English measurements, in case you are seeing some scaling discrepancies.

Prior to the late 1700's the French measured using what we call the French Inch, or pouse. It equates to 1.066" Imperial. So the kit I am currently working on is a 36' French Longboat from 1680-1780, thus in Imperial it would have been 38'4". Another thing to be careful of is that currently pouce translates to Imperial Inches instead of the old French ones. Anyway, any time you are using an ANCRE monograph, read the manual thoroughly to make sure whether the drawings were originally French or Imperial Inches. So what's a "French inch." First time I've ever heard of such a thing.

1. Thanks Bill1. NICE work!
2. You put me to shame.
3.. What scale, total length, max circumference and total weight of this little beauty?
4. I need to make 50 such items at 1/48 for a frigate. How many degrees is the taper of the
barrel?
