Amati Stripwood Guillotine.

I ordered this -less than US$ 15.00 delivered to the UK represents a real bargain.
Alan, I believe you will only receive the cutting pad, not the entire unit. Please look at the ad again, it is presented very poorly. Click on the different pictures and you will see how the price changes. Yes, I ordered from same ad and received the cutting pad only. When I went back to look at the ad, I saw how it was setup. Very deceiving.

You are quite likely right. We shall see # but depending on what turns up the chopper arm is an easier build than the base.

Well, I went ahead an ordered the remaining parts...so I will let you know when I receive as I plan on doing a complete review. I read carefully and I am interested in the unit because the arm and base are suppose to be made out of aluminum and I like the idea of using normal blades that you can buy in local store....so we shall see.

I don’t know how much is too much but I bought an office quality guillotine paper cutter about 7-8 years ago for $75. It looks like they now start at about $150. I use mine all the time. It will even make distortion free cuts in sheet brass up to about 0.015 in thick.

Like Edmund (Short John Bronze) I also make my own miter boxes. They work much better than the ones sold with razor saws.

This is the one I have from Micro-Mark for $40 USD.
I don't typically need to cut angles precisely except for the ones offered by this tool. The blades are standard razors and the aluminum arm is consistent.

I used it to chop all the parts to length accurately for the deck support structure below, and that includes the straight edges on the knees. It's simple and it works.

I use the Chopper. It works quite well for me especially when you need to cut a lot of the same size parts.

I'll just add a second for the Northwest Short Lines version of this tool. Probably the best of the sub $100 USD versions of this tool. Many have built these as well, some using just hardwood for the parts and a bit of cutting mat for a work surface. As always time vs money vs quality of results required. Try to avoid any version that uses a non standard blade, single edge razor blade and utility knife blades are low cost and easy to find!
