Anatomy of Endeavor, Marquardt

I often wonder how and why such books are so hard to find/buy.
It would be interesting to know what the print run was; is it possible to find to find this out?

So far none of that information is provided. I'll try to find out. $140 plus opn Amazon, found used for 62 plus shipping.

Publishers do not normally provide the run size, only the number of reprints or revisions for subsequent print runs. AOTS historically did about 2000 per run back in the day. I do not know if this would have included the US version which was handled by the Naval Institute Press, not Conway.

I have always had a soft spot for both of these ships. I just purchased and antique Revel Cutty Sark. 1974 vintage to fill in when glue is drying etc on the upcoming HMS Beagle.
I didn't consider what glue to use in the plastic kit. Will CA work. Last time I built one was in 1972. Haha that half a century ago

CA will have a tendency to "craze" the surface of the plastic if you use a lot.
Styrene cement will work better, I think. Of course, if you use too much of the styrene cement, it will actually melt the plastic.
This is what I like to use. It even comes with a thin tube applicator which is sufficient sometimes. Other times you will want to put some on a paper and use a toothpick to apply it.

I mostly use Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK) the solvent used to glue plastic piping together that plumbers use. Dirt cheap, find it at Home Depot or Ace hardware. I decant from the large can into a small glass bottle. CA I use when I want to attach some photo etched part (PE) to the plastic. I also occasionally use UV setting cement. Use these things in a well ventilated area.
