Assembling the bowsprit and its boom

Working on the Scottish Maid. How is the rope wrapped around the boom and bowsprit? I looked at several pictures of other people's model but I can't quite make out the detail. Is the rope simply wrapped around a few times with the end of the rope tucked in between or is it a series of figure eights?

The bowsprit and jibboom is attached with the use of an iron bracket on smaller vessels like schooners during the 19th century. The end of the jibboom would sit in a cradle. I’ll attach pictures for you below.
