Attempt to scratch build Ictineo II (1864)

Well, I’m giving this a try. It’s based on photos, drawing, and another members kit build pictures. I’m not an expert. In fact this is my first attempt at a scratch build.
I used 1/4 inch plywood for the sections and spacers. The largest sections are 3 inches. They progressively get smaller fore and aft. The aft sections were cut to accommodate the flattening of the sides.

Hello ,thanks for starting a build log,looking forward to rest of the build,here is s help how to post full images,before posting hit the top Full image button,that will make all the images in full scale,wait a few second and than post.Thanks!

Great you have started your build log, and yet another Ictineo build, this time from scratch! I will certainly watch. If you don't mind what is the scale of your model? Also, pictures are best viewed by the rest of us as 'Full image' or 'Thumbnail' (see screenshots). When attaching your images, don't forget to click the 'Full image'
button.

Also, you would save us from some extra visits to the chiropractor, if you would rotate your images before uploading. I know, it may sound: hell, it is extra work. Yes, it may, but it is not that difficult, and our huge appreciation may worth it. look at my tutorials 'how to rotate an image'. And, if you need help, we are here to help!!

Sorry, I’ll do the pictures right from now on.
So, the frame is done. I sanded out some notches for the main sail/bubble, the 2 side bubbles and the periscope. I also made the bubbles, tail rotor and fin, periscope and different odd and end for the deck, out of balsa. I might cold forge the periscope, but the others will either be painted, or planked.
Now I’m just waiting for the teak planking strips to get here so I can start planking.
