Back to the Norwegian Pram.

The super glue holds on the wood if you drip a little where the piece you are gluing will go...let it seal the wood and dry, then use the super glue, it works that way.
It holds the brass well then. Wood to wood not so well.
Waiting for parts for the Pram so started the lobster smack
nothing glued, just trial fitting.

Both the Norwegian Pram and lobster Smack call for annealing brass tubing with a butane torch. I can not find a small one for modelling work. What do you use, where to find them? And what heat range?

Get a Brulee torch. You can get them at many kitchen supply stores. The fastest way is likely Amazon. Butane you can get at any tobacconist.

As for heat range, most are adjustable. If not adjustable, experiment with flame distance from target.
