LOVE Rockwell, what a thoughtful sister and a great present! Rockwell is up there with two of my other favorite American artists Carl Evers and Andrew Wyeth.

All are great painters. Rockwell for a time was thought to be too sappy but seems to be enjoying a resurgence of interest. I would like to add Winslow Homer to the list. His painting Breezing Up (A Fair Wind) inspired me to try painting my Sea Bright skiff. The ham-handed result is shown below. Fair Winds!

I live in Stockbridge, MA where Rockwell spent the later part of his life. We still have neighbors who posed for him. The Rockwell Museum is well worth a visit to Western Massachusetts, and Chesterwood, the studio of Daniel Chester French (think Lincoln statue in the Lincoln Memorial and the Minuteman statue in Boston is just down the road.
