Hi All,
10 years ago I bought the HMS Victory and very quickly realised that I was in waaaay over my head and shelved it. I was recently inspired to try again, so this time I bought a cheap Chinese kit of the Black Pearl. My thinking is that it's a fictional pirate ship and therefore has no need to be pretty, pristine, authentic or perfect and therefore the perfect ship to practice on. It's also going to have some faults so I can learn rectification techniques as well. And if I really mess up the hull, which is the part I am least looking forward to, then I can turn it into a canon ball hole
I'm really looking forward to working on it and will welcome all and any constructive advice.
It won't be a quick build though as I work full time and have 2 other very time consuming hobbies, there will also be a lot of research going on before moving on to the next step of the build.
