Boat stowage question

Boat stowage varied a lot over time in the age of sail. The following drawing from RMG for Agamemnon and sisters (ZAZ1282 on their collections website) has a hand written note which is hard to see so I typed it for easier reading. I know what chocks are but I am curious as to their shape, size and mostly location for this case. I always thought of them being secured to the skid beams, but the wording on this drawing makes me wonder. This was a first for me so any information based on contemporary sources would be greatly appreciated.
TIA

From The American College Dictionary 1966 edition:
Most general definition: "1. a block of wood, etc. for filling in a space, esp. for preventing movement, as of a wheel or a cask."

More specifically: "2.b. Naut. a shaped standard on which a boat, barrel, or other object rests.

Photo shows a modern version. Fair winds!

Thank you very much Andy but I am looking for contemporary 18th century information for Agamemnon and similar era vessels regarding where the chocks were placed, be it on the skids, gallows, QD or FC.

Thanks again. ( I wish I had a yacht that was big enough to have chocks for a tender :) )

Cheers

Allan
