Ok let's make it triple. :)
"Averof" was a Gr. armoured cruiser that was built at 1910, along with her sister ships, the Italian "Pisa" and ""Amalfi" .

A friend of mine has built a boat of her (Averof) a "Lancia de corsa" and I'm helping him with infos.

So what could be engraved-written the oval shape plate on the bow of the boat, as well on the boats of her sister ships.
As I found the rules at least for comercial shiping, was set after the sinking of the "Titanic".
Does anyone know what would applied to battleships of that era.
Thx

I believe there would be a number on the bow so that boat would always be stowed in the same spot on deck.

The bows of US Navy ships boats carried a brass letter designating the name of the vessel to which the boat was attached. Example: A boat with the letter A would be from the USS Arizona.

The bows of British Royal navy boats carried a replica of the ship’s badge.
