I've found bonsai pruners to be really good for cutting things like carlings and ledges. They make a pretty clean cut and only take a stroke or two with a sanding stick to clean it right up. on't know if this is common knowledge or not.

I do have a pair I use on occasion. Do not use them on plastic or especially metal the cutting edge is too thin to handle that kind of material

Very nice trees guys. I can only do one hobby at a time(I tend to get obsessed). I did bonsai from about 1990 to 2005. I had 150 trees. I have two Mountain Hemlocks left. They are suffering from lack of attention.

Don, I hear you, friend.

Like you, my bonsai journey began in 1990. At one time I had around 200!
The killer is re-potting time = hard work.
I now have 25.

Again, like you I take an interest in something which becomes an obsession.
Since the 1970's I've accumulated thousands of books, and also a considerable coin collection.

Much of what I have has given me immense pleasure. Now, I'm at a point in my life, having no family, I wonder what will become of everything.............
