Hi all,
I was given a model (allegedly of the Bounty) which is in a rather sad state and in need of lots of TLC - chiefly in the rigging department.
I took some photos when I got it - some are attached - and then put it aside while I built the DeAgostini HMS Victory but, now that's finished,
the restoration job might well be the next project.
I'd welcome any help with identifying the model - I imagine it's from a kit - some parts of it feel suspiciously like plastic to me (e.g. the hull)
whilst others are more wood-like. It looks like it's all there but finding where the running rigging all terminates on the pin-rails might prove
challenging! It also looks like the figurehead and general colour-scheme are less than accurate.
Any ideas anyone?
Cheers,

Maybe it is a semi - kit bashed scratch built....
Means, that the hull and some elements were taken from a plastic kit and than scratched some other parts. Built not so bad, but simplified.
But f.e. a good deck planking with caulking.....

Definitely the Bounty. Looks like an earlier version of the Revell plastic version with hybrid parts. Looks well done.

Hi Uwe
Thanks for the reply. I agree, it looks like good quality parts have been used. I'll continue seeing what other info I can find out.
All the best,
Mike

Hi and thanks for the reply. I'll try to find out more about the Revell kit and compare to this one.
It does seem to have been carefully put together and with good quality parts so worth the effort to persist with.
Cheers
Mike
