I have been building ships for about 20 years. My home is full of the ones I have kept; I gave the others away. I have been asked to build the Spanish frigate, Bucantaurs, 86 guns.
I am a kit-builder, so I need a kit for this. If the hull is right, I can modify the rest. However, I have not been able to find a suitable kit. The closest is the Nurstra Senora Del Pilar, but it is 1:46. A bit large.
Any suggestions?

Spanish frigate, Bucantaurs, 86 guns.
If you are asking about the 86 gun ship launched in1803 it was a French ship, not Spanish. It was part of the Franco-Spanish fleet at Trafalgar and was built in France at Toulon Dockyard. If that is the ship, maybe contact the Musée National de la Marine in Paris to see what they might have. It was preceded by the Tonnant class of ships, which had a similar gun configuration. The Suffren class served as the successor to the Bucentaure class so these might be useful if you cannot find anything specific to Bucentaure. Interestingly the name is that of a mythical creature with the body of a bull and the head of a man. Might make a great figurehead. There are contemporary profile, body plan, and deck plans of Tonnant available from the RMG Collections site that might be worthwhile.

What about the Artesania Latina Uss Constellation it looks similar to the one in the above photo.

The Artesania Latina kit builds an 1850 era sloop of war dressed up by tourism promoters in Baltimore, MD who claimed it to be the original 1798 USS Constellation. As such it has Victorian features that even they couldn’t cover up; notably its round stern.

It bears no resemblance to a French ship of the line that fought at Trafalgar.

Hello MarineZ. Sorry I cant help you with the kit but may be able to assist with your Yamaha. Looks very much like my FG 230. Quite sought after Im told. (If it was much like mine, virtually unplayable when I got it. Strings to neck as high as everest.) I had to have a luthier adjust the neck angle to make it playable shortly after I bought it in the early 1970s. Plays and sounds beautifully. Its a bit hard to tell but the neck was removed and a thin wedge was installed between the neck and body effectively leveling the stings to the finger board/frets. Good luck with your search.
Cheers
Rick
