Byrne's Model Machines has reopened and is now taking orders for their saws and sanders again.

They are not currently up to full production capacity yet and they can't reopen the website due to that, but they can take orders for saws and thickness sanders over the phone. I am not sure about the disc sanders yet. I have successfully placed an order for a thickness sander and will update as things progress.

Thank you very much. Now this clarifies what type of scam that younger fellow turned around at Christmas time. He bought some Byrnes company equipment, advertised it here and sold it 5 times more expensive to unassuming people. See below:

Just received word from Donna that my thickness sander has shipped. Happy Day! :D:D:D

They are heavy but that's what makes them so accurate. All aluminum construction and the only plastic is the exhaust connection. When you order it make sure you include a supply of different grits of sandpaper sleeves. Not really sleeves but precut pieces.

Yeah, he looked to be a 'dodgy' fellow, his looks were enough to put anyone off buying from him!:mad:
 
So, it seems that (Donna) must have found another machinist (or company) willing to reproduce these products.
