Nice. I’m building the same kit right now. I put lights in mine.

I detailed the interior of the pilot house, but didn’t make it radio controlled or anything. I can’t physically get to a body of water to launch it, but did make it so my son can if he likes. I don’t care for r/c that much, the scale speeds just don’t look realistic to me, so I focus on detail.

Very very nice. I started my Calypso last December. About 85 per cent finished. Great vship.

Been working on mine for 5 months. Getting down to winches, crane, sub, and helo + platform. Bogged down in scratch-building details disappointingly not included in kit. Namely clear screen on windshield, boat motors, oars, and grab ropes on Zodiac, thrusters, flood lamps, hatch hinges and hatch lock on sub, helo interior, and a few other odds & ends. Still have all masts, railings, and rigging after all that.

BTW, find a copy of Jacques Cousteau’s Calypso by Sivirine, 1983. ISBN 0810907887. Lots of photos, an excellent history and fold-out anatomy diagram of the ship. Out of print but lots of used ones available.
