Ahoy!
My name is Krzysztof (Kris). Together with my friends (SZKUTNIK TEAM) we deal with the preparation of designs for paper, resin, plastic and wooden models.
Designing and performing of decoration for sailing ships is our favorite hobby. We make our decors on CNC devices and on 3D printer.

Great stuff. I have been experimenting, prototyping and learning the same techniques for about 2 years now. I prefer to CNC the parts from hardwood versus 3D printing. I have done some cannon, wreaths, small figurines, and emblems. No where near as good as Szkutnik's!!!!! This is the direction things are going for sure....

Carriages for the cannons..................... Yes, we producing carriages for dedicated models for private orders.

We are currently designing English cannons with carriages in scale 1/64 for a member of SOS forum :-) - fully detailed.

Wooden parts of the carriage will be cut by CNC milling machine. NOT CUT BY LASER. The product will be without burned marks. It is not necessary to polish the burned edges by sandpaper.


Also we design and cut out on the CNC milling machine all frames, longitudinal, stringers etc. for POF and POB models.

We are open to any suggestions, any ideas. If we will be able to help modelers, then we will help them.

Maybe you should design\produce your own high end kits working together with ANCRE or other publishing house? There so many ships to make a kit from!

I talked with many modelers who wanted to build the beautiful sailing ships, but all ornaments, decors blocked these modeler plans. I think SZKUTNIK TEAM is one of the option for beginning modelers.

Really, I don't know. To prepare a good modeling kit, it is a long and arduous process. High-quality products, materials are not cheap. "Saint Philippe", "Sovereign of The Seas" or "Royal Katherine" in scale 1/72? WHO WILL BUY IT?

Maybe some small sailing ship or cross section???

Yes, it does sound complicated, but... as you said, you can start with something small: schooners or cutters. For some reason, modelers like big names and big ships!! Saint Philippe, in fact, possibly a good candidate! But there so many small vessels, a beauty themselves!

Excellent to see you showing your great work Kris Thumbsup Regarding a 1/72 Saint Philippe kit,I think you would have a good number of people interested.Currently nobody makes a historically accurate kit of a French Three decker from the 17th Century.The Soleil Royal kits available make very nice models by no real evidence exists to approve/disapprove the design.

Kris have you thought about expanding your capabilities to include custom photo etching in brass?Gunport hinges is one thing that immediately spring to mind but the possibilities are endless.Multiple simple shapes like gunport hinges reduce the amount of CAD work due to the "copy and paste " that you have used on my Fleur de Lys
