Charles W. Morgan Build Log

I recently started building Scientific Models version of the Charles W. Morgan. I chose this ship as I am really interested in whale boats as Moby Dick is one of my favorite books. I also have had the chance to visit the ship in Mystic a couple of times (I just wish I took more photos for reference material)

So far I have the deck, bulwarks, keel, and transom on. The kit came with a premade deck, however I decided to do my own using individual planks. I was also able to nearly color match it to the actual ship

I made some good progress over the long weekend! Been enjoying the build. The gunports and the transom details were provided on paper with the kit, I was able to glue them on and did my best to paint over them to blend them in. I decided to go with a copper hull and am really happy with that choice. Looking forward to working on the deck details next!
