Two metal screw on bottle caps should do just fine.he guy never says where he got the 'saucer' pieces that are essential to his jig
Here's my technique. Smear a thin film of white glue on a piece of 3x5 card. Make the coil in the glue (it will hold the line as you form the coil). Let the glue dry than carfully cut around the edges of the coil so none of the card shows. The glue the card with coil to the deck. Works for me. An example is in the attached photo.is there a way to coil small rope my attempt are not very good all idea are most welcome
The first picture below shows the jigs used for winding the flakes between two layers of perspex.
A pair of washers would no doubt work. There's a video (here:) that looks promising but the guy never says where he got the 'saucer' pieces that are essential to his jig despite being asked many times over the years in the comments. That's the only video he's ever posted.
This method looks do-able but requires a little more skill - https://www.modelerscentral.com/model-ship-building/how-to-make-deck-rope-coils/
I tried the plastic caps from two 2L pop bottles and an old pen spring. Worked perfectly!A pair of washers would no doubt work.
