What could I use to add a tint to PVA? particularly diluted PVA being used to stiffen ropes?

diluted acrylic paint?
I use black graphite from a pencil mixed with PVA for caulking deck planks. Guess you could a a few drops of acrylic to PVA for rigging.

That's interesting Brian how do you apply it? Do you just put it on the edge of the plank we laying them and if so do you get much smudging on the deck surface/

Hi Allan,
I grind up a black lead pencil graphite into dust, then mix it with PVA. Turns into a thick black paste that you can glue the edges of planking.
Sandpaper off the overflow when dry.

Thanks for that Brian I think I might give it a try. No doubt I will do a couple of sample runs first because if anyone can muck it up I can
