After I finished my Santa Maria I went back to my Confederacy. I had finished the hull before going the Santa Maria. I decided to paint hull below the Wales because I didn't do a good enough job planking the hull to leave it unfinished. I left the hull above the Wales natural. I still need to add the rudder and make for adjustments to the stern castle. I planked the deck and have left it natural. I want to add simulated treenails for detail. I added simulated treenails to the hull but I think the holes I drilled are too large so it's not what I hope it would be.

I added simulated bricks for the oven/rotisserie to sit on. When added very little of the "bricks" show but I think it looks good.

I've installed the hatch coamings, the hatches and some ladders. More detail to come for the hatches (rings).
I've also been working the guns and the carriages. There are twenty eight 12 pound guns on the main deck. Assembling the guns has been slow because I want to add the detail that's described or shown in the instruction booklet. Each gun as 9 eye bolts - three on each side of the carriage, one in the breach and to per gun on each side of the gun port. Additionally there is the gun tackles. Making the tackles is also a challenge. The trucks for the carriages has been a challenge too. Each truck has to have its hub enlarges in order to fit the axle. I've split several truck in the process of enlarging the hub.

Despite these issues the process is fun and I look forward to doing a little more each day. At the pace I work it will be a month before I finish the guns.
After that there are ten 6 pound gun on the quarter deck.
