Constructo HMS Victory

Well, that looks lovely, so slow is good. ;)
Constructo has some good picturebooks as reference, very handy to follow. My first kit was the Albatros kit from Constructo. Loved the manual / picture book and learned a lot from that kit. Shame Constructo is out of business today, they made so pretty awsome kits....

Good luck with the hull, remember, one plank at a time... :)

Thanks! Slow is my only speed anymore. I agree the pictures help a lot. Some of the instructions wouldnt make a lot of sense without it.

Good evening Patrick. Looking great. The bend up the stern is hectic. I remember having to redo a couple of planks as they split even after wetting and pre bending with heat. Cheers Grant
Thanks! Yes they do seem to want to split. I may have a couple to redo. Going to wait to see how they sand out. This kit did send a second set of planking in case I really muck it all up.

I’ve been building this ship since 2014, ok on and very off at times, all sails remade as the kits are less to be desired, I’m. Currently working on the rat lines but access is tough but it was a catch 22 of doing them first and struggling to access the mast bases.

Well life got in the way a bit but I am back on my HMS Victory by Constructo. I have a question for any others that have built this. The book says to get the measurements for cutting in cannon holes from the drawings. But they are not all on the drawing first and second there are no measurements and it is not to scale. Other ships had templates to use. Also the pictures do not match the drawings. Pictures show more cannon holes than the drawings. It’s been going good I don’t want to mess it up now by putting a cannon hole where a line might cross it or worse. Any ideas from you experts?
