Creole queen

I got this motor,

555 High Torque Micro Brush DC Motor Low Speed Gear Reduction Motor Eccentric Shaft Gearbox Diameter 37mm High Torque All Metal Gear Electric Micro Gear Motor (12 Volt, 200RPM)

from Amazon at $14, about 325grm. Its probably a bit on the big side, especially as I am using 2 for a 5ft long model Creole Queen. They have various gear ratios, so its worth checking on any belt pulley reduction that you are using as this will change things.
Another choice is MY5840-31ZY, that Fred has used. This is $20, weighs 375grm and is built to different shape.

Hi Richad,
looks like a great model, is it from the Dumas kit or scratch built? Otherwise I assume that you are using a CNC machine. The window shapes look perfect! My model is bigger than Dumas, but still some of the parts are really tiny and hard to make. Please keep us informed of your progress/difficulties/ tricks, etc.
Regards, Paul

Hi Richard, How are things going with your paddle-wheeler?
I found that the motors I recommended to you were too big for my model, and substituted these

Greartisan DC 12V 60RPM Gear Motor High Torque Electric Micro Speed Reduction Geared Motor Eccentric Output Shaft 37mm Diameter Gearbox

Only $14 ! Not sure how big your model is, mine is about 60 " long and I am using 2 motors.

Have you looked at the site here under 'scratchbuilt Creole Queen". lots more details and help.
