For today, I've prepared the following drawings. The hull side bulges are not accurate because they were designed according to the "booklet general plans" for the CVL-25 and CVL-26. Therefore, it's too early to begin construction.

So here is link to YouTube video which is part of old B&W series called Victory at Sea. This episode talks about problems convoys had in "the gap" where land based aircover didn't reach, and the new Escort Carrier, designed for small operations and support of carrier, it also talks about the capture of U-505 by taskforce.

 
I heard this story. It's about USS Guadalcanal CVE-60. Besides the video, a lot of photos of the U-505 were taken at the time.
