Those are very well done. I have not been very successful in drilling into end grain without the drill bit wandering off placement by the grain density differences. . . and you did it without a guiding bushing for the small bit. Congrats! Rich (PT-2)I needed a couple more 5mm deadeyes so decided to make them.
It may depend upon the size/scale of the deadeye or other blocks that are needed and the size of the drill bits and tools to make those well. Just a thought. Rich (PT-2)yes! Why buy when you can make and have the tools to make.
Because - when a model needs, say, 100 of them, buying is a great option. And some of the suppliers produce very nice blocks etc. Besides, who really want to sit for hours making deadeyes?yes! Why buy when you can make and have the tools to make.
Maybe 'Deadeye D^%$#@K'! Apologies for my humour!Because - when a model needs, say, 100 of them, buying is a great option. And some of the suppliers produce very nice blocks etc. Besides, who really want to sit for hours making deadeyes?
