DeAgostini Cisne Branco - a.k.a Occre Gorch Fock

A lot of work was done this week: wood sealing, painting and glossing was needed to proceed with central deck and hull side installation.
My goal is to replicate the dull teak of the deck and the glossy mahogany of the cabin walls and other deck furniture.
I covered with Tauari veneer the front and and aft deck houses, varnished them with sealant and after dried, sanded and scraped applied the mahogany-color varnish.
The next step was to seal the laser cut and engraved decks. Some waves appeared but as the varnish dried they disappeared almost entirely.
With the aft deck extension described earlier, plywood hull side panels were extended using leftover cutous from the same material. Large holes were redrilled and old incorrect ones were plugged. Then both halves for each side were glued together o achieve a smoother white finish on the insides.

I will put more pictures and describe some additional steps needed, but this is the current state of the build:

First planking almost completed, just one or two boards in port top part of bow. I am seriously considering not doing the second sheeting. Any thoughts?
Also lasered the rear deck with acceptable results on third run. It’s a very large part which kept curling and hitting the laser head.
Central castle also completed with staircase passageways.

Bow thruster hole was carefully drilled to lower bow. Experiment with mahogany color lacquer yielded promising results over the Tauari-wood veneer. This is the same wood used for the deck, only there only wood sealant was applied.
