I'm sure we all do that, dream ahead about the next build. Especially at that stage where you are detailing, tinkering, seeing the end of the tunnel of this ship. And it serves a purpose, as this is where - at least for me - the initial research starts. Skipping through magazines, flicking another page in THAT book, surfing through Pinterest.
The problem is to make a choice. I am dreaming about building a Dutch Motor Torpedo Boat, TM51, which was based on the British Power Boat series of the MTB's of early WW2. And in something like 1/16th or so. BIG.
But I am also dreaming about building a tramp steamer, something like Karaboudjan of Tintin fame. Perhaps in 1/96? And there is a set of good drawings in my stack of a really beautiful destroyer, the Friesland class. That must be in 1/96 or smaller, as otherwise I will not be able to store it.
And did I tell that I have two beautiful wooden ships in my stack? Jolie Brise from Artisan Latina, as I really love the seemingly plump lines turning into a true sailing boat. And HMS Mars by Caldercraft. I just bought them, knowing that some day I will start. I can dream about adding lots of detail and finesse.
So will I dream myself into yet another 3D adventure, and then, what ship or boat? Or will I dive into wooden ships, even if it is not scratch.
Dreams.
So what ships are you dreaming about?
