I recently bought a half-finished model of a Dutch Tjalk. It's a kit by Authentic Shipmodels Amsterdam, and dates from the 70s/80s. The name of the ship is a bit mysterious: the box has a sticker on it with 'Sliedrecht' on it, which is a city in The Netherlands. Originally, I thought this was the name of the ship, but the box also contains a receipt from a store in Sliedrecht, so probably the sticker refers to that. There is a board on the ship with the name 'Eendracht' ('Unity'), so clearly that's the name the original builder wanted it to have. At the same time, there seem to be small diferences between the pictures on the box, and the half-finished model, so perhaps the builder was kit-bashing it a bit. Regardless, I'm going to freewheel my way through this model. I'm keeping a buildlog on YouTube (English-spoken, this time), and the video's are also embedded in this thread. Enjoy!

(edit, years later: it has been suggested that this is a skûtsje, not a tjalk)
