Hi All, I am planning to simulate planking on the accommodation block on my Endurance build. Given the scale of 1:70 I am trying to decide whether to use 2mm or 3mm strips. Any view as to what width of planking would typically have been used ie. 140mm (5.5 inch) or 210mm (8.5 inch). Thanks in advance.

This is the best picture I know of the shelter (it houses the mess and the galley). Looks like they are quite narrow planks.

Pictured is Charles Green, the cook, with Mrs Chippy, the ship's carpenter's cat, at his feet. Picture is taken by the famed Frank Hurley, the expedition's photographer/cinematographer. All of his Endurance pictures (that is, those that were saved) are published in the book 'South with Endurance', which is very useful (and fun) when building Endurance.

Thanks Mike, much appreciated. They look very narrow so will aim for 2mm I think.
