That is exactly the position that I am in. But in the past, I have made too many to keep, I will just have to reduce the number of what I do build. In the UK, we have a minimum wage, so as long as one keeps a tally of the number of hours it takes to build, it is just simple multipliaction to come up with a price. Even so, I reduce it a bit, because very few people want to pay even the minimum wage for a model ship. It is difficult to answer people when they ask "What are you building at the moment?" Although I can truthfully answer "nothing!" At the "moment," Simply because I am talking to them, and not building a model at that "moment!"
They are always asking at the local model ship club, but when I did take completed models there, it was very rare that anyone bothered having a closer look during the lunch break. When I complete a model, I just take a large photograph, and pass it round. No-one has so far asked why I don't take the models any more! Neverthless, it has always been a hobby in that I did not have to do it, it was my own choice! A model I sold years ago (SS
Marathon) is currently listed on Ebay for £1,200, it will be interesting to see if it sells (Its original owner died recently).
