Which Fair American are you interested in? The one in the kit looks like the Bermuda built 14 gun brig but there was the schooner launched in 1812 as well. If the former and you decide to scratch build, or maybe kit bash, it could be interesting to check out the 13 free high resolution contemporary plans of the 14 gun brigs Sylph 1774, Atalanta 1775 and Cygnet 1776 all on the Wiki Commons site as there are similarities.
