The first Russian submarine, St. Petersburg, Russia. The submarine was built in 1721 and tested in the presence of Russian emperor Peter the Great. I found this to be pretty unique and thought it would make a cool model so i decided to build one from scratch for my grandson as a christmas present. there are no plans that i could find . there is a kit out there but it is not really a quality kits. i found a general description of it with some overall dimenstions. I picked 1/16 scale as the size to build it. I also bought a 3 d printer and have used it to do alot of the parts to the submarine. I started out by doing some drawings in Draftsight like the frames pilot house and the windows. I also have fusion 360 to do 3D models so i have used it to do alt of the parts for the sub. I tried something different. I made all the frames in Fusion then printed them out. Super glue works great on assembling the frames and then gluing the planking onto the frames. This worked out really well. here are the cad drawing and the frames i printed on the 3D printer. As you see it went together very nicely.... the cost for the frames was 73 cents. I use a PLA filiment and it took about 2 hours to print the frames.
