Flying Cloud Clipper Ship 6' long, 4 1/2' tall, Pre WWII

I was told it came from a restaurant in the San Francisco Bay Area. I can't image it making the trip from Hawaii to CA.
The auctioneer could be wrong.

Here's the link to more, high resolution pictures (Google Drive folder). See if any of those help you determine if it was the same ship as the Hawaiian restaurant.

Just a brainstorm. The museum in San Francisco wasn’t always The National Maritime Museum. I assume that it once was a more modest organization. Did a ship model club once meet there? Or do they have records of any ship model clubs in the city that existed pre war? It might help to learn about the model builder/ restorer.

It has some similarities to the Revell model of Cutty Sark which I assembled about 40 years ago. I do admire the case as well as the clipper shown by Eric.

In the interest of helping after trying museums, here is a list of model clubs in SF and CA via the Nautical Research Guild link: https://thenrg.org/resource/clubs/1000

Note the Hyde Street Pier group. They are historically linked to the original SF Maritime Museum. All the entries have links but you need to get them from the main link above. I only expanded Hyde Street.

Even though the restorer passed in 1964, there should be enough recollection to help you. Maybe some of them would even want to take it off your hands?

Eric, I took a long look at the photos in the Google Drive and I still believe it could be the model in Hawaii, but I have no pictures so I'll let it rest.
One more note, you did a great job in polishing the brass plaque, really does tribute to the model.

LOL! I dug out my 10" polishing wheel, blew off the dust (There was a lot), found some 40 year old red rouge polishing compound and went to town. I was pretty proud of the outcome.

Can you remember the name of the restaurant or maybe the city or street it was located? I'm thinking since this came from a seafood restaurant, maybe, just maybe, it could be the same ship.
