Hello forum members, my name is Ron Blok, I started building models at a young age, but all plastic. My ceiling was covered with planes hanging of the ceiling with sewing thread pinched from my mother. I'm a Dutch national and so have a affinity with the sea, the last 20 years I have been drafting steel structures.
My father was a marine architect and he had a large collection of magazines called "de beting" which was published by salvage comp Bureau Wijsmuller, a mag for staff and enthusiasts. and was full of salvage stories accompanied with photo's. So I became a tug enthusiast which led me tot start the build of the Zwarte Zee IV from Billing Boats. I have the book the history of its predecessors and I would like to build all 4 versions of the Zwarte Zee.
The reason I joined, is that I would like to use a 18v 9ah battery to power a 18v drill motorto run the boat. Iwould like to make the radar work, the water canons, anker winch and to winch. I also have more than 100 LED light in the hull, bridge, cabins and navigation light. I need assistance to make this work. Im not at home with RC but am eager to learn. I live in New Zealand and unfortunately there is not too much available here so I have to source it from overseas.
If anyone can assist me, please let me know.
