, I still have a lot to learn. At the moment this (older) model is still waiting in the box. Since I don't have the building instructions, I'm still looking for as much information as possible - also about the original ship - and am still studying the literature before I start work, if I still have the courage to do so. So far my skills are limited to model airplanes (Waco Wmf-5) and simpler ships (Rainbow 1934).

There may be some information on Flying Fish (née Independence) at the U.S. Library of Congress, U.S. National Archives, or the South Street Seaport Museum in New York City.
