Francis Drake's galleon...Golden Hind...built from scratch

Thanks for sharing the photos, this is truly impressive workmanship. Hope you don't mind a question. On the photo below, are these pin racks? The reason I ask is that the English did not use belaying pins until mid to late 18th century. Then again, she was built so long ago, no one knows if she was way ahead of her time. :)

Thanks, that is what I thought. This is a mistake by the kit maker as she was built in an English yard in Plymouth (I wrote the wrong yard in the first post as that was where the replica was built :) ) It is highly unlikely that she would have belaying pins as they did not into common use on British ships until about 200 years after Golden Hinde.

Beautiful work. The grates are amazing and I’m going to have to burn the ladder jig into my memory. I recently fought through making some ladders that weren’t great… I might have to go back and make some new ones following your build.
