That's the second one, as far as I know. How many more before more thought is given to electric vehicles. I'm glad I retired from driving last year @ 78. I've no interest in electric cars in any case. Furthermore, I see electric cars are causing concern in police forces, as there are, at present, no suitable ones for police pursuits.

You have to laugh at the stupidity of the push to go electric, when in California they say buy EV, but then say not enough power in "The Grid" to allow charging and keeping all the air conditioning and lights on! No real plans to provide more power to the grid, as they are shutting down all coal and gas fired power plants, and retiring the last nucellar plant soon.

I have seen many joke postings on line saying charge your EV from wind or solar powered charging stations. You might get half a day charge in one week.

Well, I think it's important to question of those 1529.9, how many spontaneously caught fire for no apparent reason. My gut tells me most of them were the result of either poor maintenance, poor operation, collisions, or outright stupidity. Almost completely preventable.

On the other hand, I'm not going to badmouth cordless power tools simply because improperly stored Li-ion batteries occasionally catch fire in the hold of an airliner....
