I found this forum while searching for rigging drawings for the Golden Hind when I was thinking of making the Airfix kit as a Christmas project, or maybe the wooden HM Sherborne from Vanguard Models, which a couple of YouTube bloggers were recommending. My last ship was probably the Airfix Great Western in the 1970s. I have a Sergal Thermopylae that I bought at least 20 years ago in the back of a cupboard but never started.
I found some of the rigging I was looking for, thanks to this forum, at HISModel but these appear to be from more than one source, and have inconsistent and missing rope numbers.
One of my problems now is not having a dedicated modelling space — it’s the ceramic cooker hub! Another problem is lack of space to display a largish ship.
While searching for the rigging plans, I spotted a Lifelike kit of the Golden Hind, being sold by a charity shop, on a well known auction site. I bought that and it became my Christmas project instead. It’s about a third of the size of the Airfix kit but I decided to practice my knitting, I mean rigging, on this much smaller model. Because of that, I estimate that it took me somewhere between 40 and 60 hours to complete. If there’s interest I’ll post a photo blog of the build. I’m still mulling over doing the other two ships.
Mike
