It’s certainly possible to build a ship kit “all natural”, but for most some, perhaps a lot, of painting is required. Depending on the area or part, pre-painting is often necessary. Are there any adhesion issues using either CA or white glue with pre-painted parts? Should the paint be sanded away first? Any tips or traps?
thanks, j

You have to remove any finish (paint, any oil, shellac or even glue) before gluing. I never paint before gluing.

If using CA glue it will appear shiny, so some amount of toughup might be necessary. Or you can lacquer (enamel) the final piece in matt or satin to even it out.
