Back in 2006, I started building the Golden Hind from the MAMOLI set. It turned out to be the longest construction project of my life. It's been 20 years, and the model is still unfinished. In 2006, I assembled the frame and started covering it with the first layer of wood. 2006.jpg

In the next photos, which were taken in 2009, the hull is already completely covered with the first layer of slats and the main deck is laid.

The next approach was at the end of 2015. The model was covered with a second layer of planking, all decks and bulwarks were completely covered on the outside and inside, the beak head decking was installed, and the gun ports were cut.

And a small upgrade in January 2016.

The next photo shoot was in 2018. There was a stern balcony, a beak head railing, a gunwale, and waterways. There were grates on the decks, doors on the bulkheads, and some decor.

At the beginning of 2019, guns, deck equipment, rails and masts appeared. I covered the berghouts with a dark stain. It seemed to me then that it was the right thing to do) Although, as far as I know, not a single drawing of this ship has been preserved. And not even a single painting of that time. Therefore, we can only judge its appearance by other galleons of that time.

In the MAMOLI set, the boat is a lopsided tin "bath." I liked the way my model turned out, and I didn't want to ruin the beautiful wooden lace with such a crude detail. Therefore, I purchased a separate set for making the boat. This boat is from a different ship, a later one, but it fits the size and has a similar shape.

In 2021, I started making rigging. I used the threads that came with the set. As well as the blocks. Unfortunately, the quality is not very good. The threads are fuzzy, and the blocks are quite rough. However, it's what it is...

In 2022, the model already looked like this. The standing rigging is partially installed, it's kind of hard for me to do the rigging work. Therefore, I console myself with the thought that it is already so beautiful)20220111_231910.jpg20220111_231932.jpg20220113_233056.jpg20220113_233159.jpg20220113_233235.jpg20220113_233255.jpg20220113_233330.jpg20220113_233359.jpg20220113_233453.jpg20220113_233515.jpg20220113_233608.jpg20220113_233650.jpg20220114_064829.jpg20220114_064912.jpg
