Golden Hind - 1:60 - scratch from F.Gay plans

Working on the main stern castle deck that protrudes for all its length on the main deck. First I installed the main beams properly curved. Will not add other small beam elements because they will be not visible. I positioned the main elements for such deck so to have the correct reference for the covering beams. On the bottom bulkhead there is a door that will be barely visible. I installed also the cannons and the platform to operate the rudder, some columns and so on…

He Momcil,

that looks very nice and really very clean. I can't wait to see how it continues.

Best regards

More details on the main deck. Nice to see from this perspective also the lower compartments of the hull. On the right some details also of the main upraised stern deck that were not visible in the previous pictures

And so here She is with all stern decks complete and few details on the vertical bulkheads. Towards stem there is my “sailor” a figure used to check if everything is in the correct proportion. Still not very sure (indeed it was not declared in the plans) if the Galleon is in 1/60 scale, judging from the height of the upraised decks it seems more a 1/70

Another aspect that I was fascinated right from the start is the huge number of deck levels typical of such kind of vessels. Starting from the main deck there are “two levels” down and “three levels” up for a total of six levels starting from the keel!
