Was digging through and found two book written by Brian Lavery titled The Ship of the Line Volumes I and II Volume one talks about the development 1650-1850 and volume two is on design and construction. I bought them from the Naval Institute many years ago but do believe they are still available. Another is Navy Board Ship Models 1650-1750 by John Franklin. All are great references
