Greetings from Alabama

Welcome aboard. So very sorry for your loss. I too, lost my wife to Alzheimer's 12 years ago now. (I have remarried and we both are retired now). Ship building is a great respite and lately, I've discovered 3D printing. Show us your work and maybe start a Build Log on Ships of Scale! Again, Welcome!

Welcome aboard from a neighbor in Louisiana. You are taking on an interesting project as a first model. Please consider doing a build log as I don't think we have one for the new Occre Victory and it looks very interesting. Again, welcome aboard.

Welcome aboard Mark. I live a little north of you in Florence. Sorry to hear about your wife. My wife and I are both dealing with various cancer issues so I can commiserate with you somewhat. Looking forward to seeing your posts in the future. God bless!

Welcome aboard Dr. Mark and greetings from Texas. I agree with Rob on the Shipwright series to start off with. Have fun and enjoy your new home also! Magic Mike

I have the three ship Shipwright series on order, along with the USS Constitution cut-away from Model Expo. I figured these would give me a decent transition, and chance to build new and/or sharpen skills from stick built RC planes, before I get into the HMS Victory from Occre, and the USS Constitution from Agora.

Thanks for the welcome. I am diving into the hobby head first with Occre’s HMS Victory. While new to shipbuilding, I have been designing and building RC planes personally and military drones professionally. I am retired now, and lost my wife to cancer this past June, so I needed something to occupy the mind and hands. I look forward to learning and discussing with everyone as I progress. I got my meager workspace set up last night using a 6’ Woodworking bench with drawers from Harbor Freight. This will have to do until my house sells and I get the new house built. I planned a dedicated heated and cooled workshop for my hobbies in the new house. That’s a great-looking model! The level of detail on the hull is impressive. I’ve always admired the patience and precision that go into ship modeling. Speaking of hobbies that require skill and strategy, I recently came across an interesting bollywood casino review. It covers some unique aspects of online gaming that might appeal to those who enjoy a mix of chance and strategy. Have you ever tried incorporating historical elements into your models, like weathering effects to simulate age? It adds a whole new layer of realism.
Hello!
