Hello all,..... I am actually an old member who has been inactive on this site for quite a few years. I live in the north Atlanta suburb of Marietta, I'm 71 years old, I'm a married US Navy veteran (20 years active and reserve, E-7; MOS 8404). I'm a retired I.T. project manager having worked for CNN and Delta Airlines.
My ship building experience dates back many years, my very first attempt was to build the Revell S.S. Brazil when that kit was introduced in 1958 or 1959. Since then I've built numerous plastic, resin, and wood based ship models with my skills gradually improving over time.
Right now I have several models in various stages of build including the Airfix ocean liner Queen Elizabeth, The Trumpeter USS North Carolina, The Billings Boat Danmark, and a scratch build Ambrose Light Ship.
My greatest building interest is in passenger liners of the past. This I suspect is due in part to the fact that my grandfather was the New York based senior passenger agent for the Swedish American Line back in the the 1950's. I was fortunate to see many of the great liners of the day as I lived in New York and my grandfather took me on excursions to see the great ships arrive and depart from the west side Manhattan piers.
So,... I look forward to talking with all of you, learning new skills, reviewing projects, and being a small part of this community.

also from my side a warm welcome here on board of our forum
