Hachette build the Titanic

As I have plenty on the go I plumped for this one too share.
This is not quite the full build as I had a completed ship that needed a new hull building so this build includes the hull build and transfer and refurbishment of existing parts.
The first five pics show the building of the new hull and partial planking.
And excuse the poor quality of the last picture.

No costs involved. I always get about six author's copies from the Publisher for each print-run which are only gathering dust here. Glad I can help.

This ship was originally destined to be a sort of what if as I was going to do it the dazzle camouflage but I couldn't get the finish I wanted so it's going back to its original liner paint scheme.

Time to bring the build up to date this time I will have done the gratings over the first and second class domes.
The original instructions had them made from wood I wasn't satisfied with the finish so tried some flat plastic card still not satisfied so finally I went back to the original instructions but changed the 1mm wood for plastic.
And also I have started on the bridge.

The officers quarters and bridge roof plus the bridge front have been attached and I have started to attach the roof vents.

Time to bring this build up to date.
While waiting for a spitfire to dry I picked up the two ships and started transfering some parts over from the doner ship it's just mainly vents and cranes and some parts on the fore deck along with the cranes from the stern.
I am not bothered about the state of the decks as they will be varnished.
I did get some figures for the ship but 1\200 scale they are a tad bit big so some amputation will be required.

Time to change scales I am back on my bigger Titanic I have almost finished the bow just a few bits to do and I have the first mast on and the first two funnels fitted.

Had a big push over the last week just replacing all the parts I took off the old ship so almost finished just some rigging and the lifeboats to go.

This one is an old part work series dating from 2001 originally made by Amati it is available as a full kit with better parts search for Amati Titanic it retails over here for about £380 witch would make it $460 or there abouts
